Earthbag Buildings
Earthbag construction is an inexpensive building method using local soil to create structures that are strong and can be quickly built with beautiful customized designs. Upcycling grain bags is the most ecologically friendly and cost effective way to build.
Architect Nader Khalili was the inventor of SuperAdobe and the founder of CalEarth that his children now manage. They have done excellent work in helping people throughout the world with developing best practices in building with SuperAdobe earthbags. The picture above is on the campus at CalEarth. See more information about them at: www.calearth.org
NEW earthen buildings in future ecovillages will be innovative, using best practices of SuperAdobe, Earthships, cob, hempcrete, aircrete and more techniques to create visually beautiful, wonderful ecologically friendly structures for low costs. NEW practices will incorporate biophilic architecture and permaculture into designs to grow vegetation in, upon and around buildings.
There are many ways to DIY earthbag buildings that we may explore. Much more information on this and many other topics in sustainable living can be developed with your support.
